25 August - 12 September
Engine is a highly charged theatrical event about family, friends and cars - of fixing what's broken and celebrating life. Actors Bob Baines and Melanie Zanetti are joined on stage by a host of young performers from Brisbane State High School, Clairvaux Mackillop College and St Laurence's College, adding dynamic physicality, character and unique perspectives on young people in cars... It's a funny and moving roller-coaster ride that will break your heart and mend it.
GWEN IN PURGATORY
29 September - 24 October
Tommy Murphy is one of Australia's best comic writers. But he's more than that: his Holding the Man recently wowed London West End audiences. This is his latest work - a brilliant comedy about 90-year-old Gwen, who woke up one morning to discover that purgatory is sitting in a new house in a new subdivision, trying to work out if the remote in her hand operates the TV, the air-con or the fan-forced oven. This co-production with the legendary Company B Belvoir is directed by Australia's finest director, Neil Armfield.

This is a true story. One night, Johnny poses online as a girl named AlbaJay. As his infatuation with a football golden boy grows, he creates a string of fictitious characters - a serial killer, multiple family members of AlbaJay, and a female secret service agent - all in the name of getting what he most desires. Hamlet director David Berthold returns to direct this heart-stopping play starring Leon Cain.
